CONTROL SOFTWARE
After trying just about every CAM program on the market, we went with DESKCNC as the machine control software.
We were impressed with the ease of use and uncomplicated commands. The average user can learn the basics in
less than 1 hour. DESK is a graphic based program and the user needs only to learn 10 commands to make most
any cuts.
The DESK program imports DXF, HPGL, BMP, JPG, STL and G-Code files and converts them to a drawing
displayed on the screen. The machines are controlled by selecting all or part of the drawing and executing a tool
path command, DESKCNC then converts the selected graphic items and sends the drawing to the machine for
cutting.
Common graphics programs such as CorelDraw, AutoCad Bobcad, Turbocad Artcam, Enroute, Mastercam, or any
software that can export a DXF or non-modal g-code file can be used to directly create tool path drawings. Desk
cnc has built in toolpathing for convenience and ease of use. a DXF or HPGL file with tool offsets (see note 1) can
be directly imported and converted to g-code with a few clicks of the mouse. Desk cnc is a very good and easy to
use machine control that works well with advanced third party g-code generators such as visual mill and Enroute
(sold separatley).
DESKCNC make g-code easy and hassle free. It has a very good drawing to code converter built in and works well
with code created by other programs. With this feature, you do not need to learn G-code. Just bring in you drawing
and DESKCNC will write a basic file for cutting with a few clicks of your mouse. Drill and pocket commands are also
a integrated part of this software. Because it is windows XP based, files can be quickly imported from other
programs, through a network. it will also allow the use of Cd's and jump drives to access and save your files.

machine sit for a couple weeks without sweating a large monthly payment. Are your highest

NOTES:
1. Tool offset: by default the cutter will cut to the center of a line. Thus 1/2 diameter of tool will be into part you want cut out. Parts
need to be offset (moved out) to allow cutter edge to be at center of line. Most cad software packages have this feature built in.
Desk CNC has a feature that allows for line offsetting. Because of differences in DXF file formats, and the varying quality of file
filters; EZCNC recommends this feature only be used by the hobbyist or for craft type projects. For commercial applications, please
use the offset feature of your CAD software or use a third party g-code generator such as Enroute, visual mill, BOB-CAD, or one
of many other software programs that are designed to interpret your files to produce good quality machine code
2. EZCNC includes a dell laptop with purchase. The laptops are generally Dell Laltitude Pentium class laptops.
All laptops we provide are refurbished by Dell or a Dell vendor and are not new but are reconditioned to work like new. All hard
drives are new or are reformatted and loaded with a fresh copy of Microsoft Windows xp operating software and new drivers. In
our research and years of experience, these hold up better in a woodworking and plastic cutting environment much better than
any other laptop we have tested. All machines have the option of a new desktop computer and flat panel monitor. The use of a
computer cooling mat is strongly advised if used in a non-air conditioned building.
